Who We Are
“The fact is that given the challenges we face, education doesn't need to be reformed -- it needs to be transformed. The key to this transformation is not to standardize education, but to personalize it, to build achievement on discovering the individual talents of each child, to put students in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions.”
― Sir Ken Robinson
This quote by Sir Ken Robinson is a wonderful encapsulation of what we try to accomplish every day at Life Learning Community (LLC). Our goal is to create the ideal environment that gives children in grades K-12 the opportunity to be safe, comfortable, and appropriately challenged within their abilities. We understand the huge advantage we have of being a small and very personal educational community, and we do all we can to maximize that advantage.
As a school, we have developed and committed to Seven Promises that we keep to our students, our families, our Lord, and ourselves. These promises ensure we keep our minds, hearts, and work on track.
As we work diligently to maintain a personal and inspired approach to teaching, we make certain we keep the end goal in mind: graduating complete students who are ready for the next chapter in their lives. We are constantly reflecting back on the Seven Pillars that have been carefully developed to be the well-rounded foundation, built on God's word, which we use in all of our academic planning. These seven pillars are aspects of excellence in education that our staff are committed to model and teach as we deliberately integrate them into our entire curriculum.
We are able to serve a richly diverse student body because we utilize Seven Teaching Modalities. These are ways we connect with students and make sure each lesson reaches them in a method best suited to the way they learn.
To learn how LLC came to be and why we describe ourselves as “a love-filled community welcome to all, filled with laughter, built on respect, driven to the best, not discouraged by road blocks, thankful each day, covered by prayer, and fueled by the Holy Spirit,” please read about our vision.
